Summary

Carnet is a private journal for therapy prep. It has no Carnet account, no owned backend for journal content, no analytics, no telemetry, and no third-party SDKs. The developer does not collect journal entries, session prep briefs, imports, exports, usage events, or identifiers from the app.

Journal Content

Your entries are stored on your device. If iCloud sync is enabled, entries sync through your private iCloud database under Apple's iCloud and CloudKit security model. Carnet does not operate a server that receives or stores your journal content.

On-Device Analysis

Carnet uses Apple frameworks on your device for text analysis, embeddings, rough tone estimates, theme grouping, OCR, crisis-language checks, and audio transcription. Audio transcription runs only when on-device Speech recognition is available for the device and locale.

Camera, Files, and Speech

Carnet asks for camera access only to scan handwritten or printed journal pages. It asks for Speech recognition only to transcribe imported audio when on-device recognition is supported. File access is user-initiated for import and export.

Analytics and Tracking

Carnet is designed so the developer does not collect data from the app. If the architecture changes, this policy and App Store privacy information will be updated.

Medical and Crisis Limits

Carnet is not a medical service, therapist, crisis service, or diagnostic tool. If crisis-language checks detect possible self-harm language, Carnet may show crisis resources. The app does not contact emergency services or anyone else.
